The Twees have been straddling the fine line between indie and garage rock to create a genuine New York City sound since their inception. Using lineup changes made at the beginning of this year as a springboard to impress live audiences and record new material, lead singer Jason Abrishami’s deep voice, similar to Julian Casablancas’ of The Strokes, and blunt lyrics paired with happy, energetic guitar melodies have had the band gain a decent following within the New York rock ‘n’ roll scene. They play the Bowery Electric with Shapes July 8.
