With her mousey voice and sincere lyrics drenched in heartache, it’s easy for listeners to fall in love with Kate Tucker. The Seattle-based songstress is taking a break from her indie-pop outfit Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden to explore organ-based southern folk rock. Her fragile vocals take subtle cues from Regina Spektor and Neko Case, but it’s her haunting storytelling and song arrangements that take power, paying homage to Fleetwood Mac and Neil Young. Kate Tucker plays Lovin’ Cup Spike Hill July 9 and Rockwood Music Hall July 10.
