Critically acclaimed indie rock gods Yo La Tengo will join Portastic, Claudia Gonson of Magnetic Fields, Kyp Malone of TV On The Radio, Sharon Van Etten, Dimmer, and Robert Scott and David Kilgour of The Clean to play a benefit show for Chris Knox, the New Zealand punk originator who had a series of strokes last year. Also making an appearance: The recluse better known as Jeff Magnum of Neutral Milk Hotel. This show may backfire, however, as the likelihood of “Holy shit, can you believe this line-up?” induced strokes in music snobs everywhere will no doubt rise. The show is sold out, duh, but recordings of the show will be broadcast on WFMU at a later date. May 6, Le Poisson Rouge, 8 p.m., $75 (yeah, you wouldn’t have been able to go anyway), 18-plus.
