An epic modern day indie opera is the best way to describe Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Penelope. The 60-minute song will feature Shara Worden, singer/songwriter for experimental indie rock band My Brightest Diamond, bringing Snider’s music to life. Worden’s Bjork-esque voice, blended with orchestral strings and indie rock elements tell the story of a woman who’s presumed dead husband comes back from an unnamed war. The night will also feature a performance of William Brittelle’s apocalyptic concept album, Television Landscape. Performances will be at The Bell House on April 3. Tickets are $12. sarahkirklandsnider.com.
