Guitar virtuoso Kaki King doesn’t play her guitar so much as abuse it, using her guitar as a percussion instrument, slapping, rubbing and plucking the thing to create her intensely layered and complicated songs. The 30-year-old Atlanta native is the first ever female to be named a “Guitar God” by Rolling Stone, and understandable for a Guitar God, her music is best experienced live to see just how her fingers and palms create those intricate and thudding melodies. If you’ve never seen (or heard) King, who was recently featured on the Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack, she will be playing at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg, Dec. 12, 8 p.m. kakiking.com.
