Art Brut: Alright In My Book

Any band that has a song called “DC Comics And Chocolate Milkshakes,” or their latest single “Alcoholics Unanimous,” is alright in my book. Luckily however, London’s indie rock/punk quintet Art Brut’s cleverness does not end with song titles. Providing a number of catchy hooks, consistently tongue-in-cheek lyrics and stellar music, at least as far as punk rock goes on their latest LP titled Art Brut vs. Satan. They will be fighting off dark forces at the Brooklyn Bowl Nov. 13 for a 21 and over audience and at the Bowery Ballroom Nov. 15. Tickets $14 and $16. For more information. myspace.com/artbrut.
