What a week! This past Wednesday, I headed down to Vintage Vinyl for the in-store acoustic performance of Brand New. I handed out promotional bags with Lexi filled with stuff for their upcoming hometown show at Nassau Coliseum Nov. 28. It was interesting… That’s all I’m allowed to say.
Okay, so let’s ignore the fact that I hate New York state and I arrived at the Loft on Saturday at 8 p.m. Dr. Acula and American Me drew a young and energetic crowd. Great sets by each band. Afterwards, I hung out in the van with Sab, Ty and a bottle of whiskey while the rest of the tour package decided to amuse themselves to the Kittie performance next door—and I got lost for 3 hours on my way home.
Sunday down at the Croc Rock, I witnessed a band called I See Stars and it was the biggest jumble of sound I’ve ever heard. It was one of those in—then right back outside—kind of things, and I continued to stay outside for In Fear and Faith. Parkway Drive sounded amazing (I swear my judgment isn’t being clouded by their, oh so, sexy accents…) The band everyone was waiting for, A Day To Remember, performed better that night then what I saw from them at Warped Tour. The loyal fans jam-packed the room and overwhelmed Jeremy McKinnon’s vocals. I could barely hear him over the passionate crowd!
All I have for this upcoming week is Shwayze and Cisco Adler on Friday at the School of Rock. Don’t be misled though, I am very excited for this show! I think Cisco Adler is the cutest thing since cabbage patch kids. Most of the ExcessdB group will be out in San Fran for Heath Miller’s wedding with the beautiful Leah! I wish them the best of luck!
See you folks around.
