Since it’s unlikely that John Fogerty will oblige to a Creedence Clearwater Revival reunion, Creedence Clearwater Revisited is the next best thing. The band, featuring former CCR rhythm section Stu Cook and Doug “Cosmo” Clifford, has been making do without the original line-up since 1995.
They released a double live CD in 1998 featuring all of CCR’s biggest hits and claim that recording any new songs would defeat the purpose of the project. CCRevisited may not be all that CCR once was, but they’ll be covering all of the hits at a free show at the Asser Levy Park Amphitheatre on Coney Island in Brooklyn on July 16.
