Interview with Forever The Sickest Kids: Nicer Than You Thought

What is the biggest misconception about the members of the band?

That’s a good question. I would say that I got a lot of people who don’t know us will come up after a show to talk to us and meet us and say, ‘We thought you guys were going to be dicks because you’re on a major label and a big touring band.’ But we’re not like that at all. So I would have to say that would be our biggest misconception.

What fuels your music? Do you listen to a lot of upbeat bands or do you have a wide variety of influences?

Really with all of us we kind of listen to everything. Some of us listen to acoustic stuff. Others listen to hardcore, rap, or techno. It spans through everything. I think that’s what helps us get our sound.

Are you scared the band will always be stereotyped into one genre of music?

If it’s going to happen then it’s going to happen. We would rather not be. To me the music should speak for itself for each band, but if our music sounds like theirs than it sounds like theirs. Our ultimate goal though is to make a name for ourselves.

If you could put a fact about Forever The Sickest Kids underneath a Snapple cap, what would it be?

We want to own the Stanley Cup.
